It is always an honor when someone reaches out to be and asks me about making a painting about their family. A woman wanted to surprise her husband for his birthday with this family portrait. She had given me the simple idea of Russian dolls. She had said that he was there to take care of her and their child through the Pandemic. I wanted to capture the feeling of protection while also while showing the closeness of family.
