How cool is this?!? I was asked to make a short doc about my life as a funeral director and artist. We shot it last year in the Youngstown area. It was debuted at the Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh in December where we did a Q and A with Doug Helmick and myself. The doc was also accepted into the Amdocs film festival and the Cleveland International film festival!! A lot of people have been asking when they can see it. We are working that out soon and it will be available for everyone to see.

"Good Luck Roar"
Hey friend! I’m excited to be working with my friends over at House of Roulx again. This time we released a brand new print titled “Good Luck Roar”. I feel like it’s so easy to project a negative viewpoint of the world and with social media it’s never been easier to do so.
I wanted to make a piece that rejected that feeling of sadness and negativity. So I think that if we see ourselves as tigers who wake up every morning ready to roar “Good Luck” we are off to a good start!
There is a standard version and a hand embellished version of the print. Both are limited, come signed and numbered from House of Roulx.
They can be purchased HERE
Don't Quit
I was in an old funeral home this week for a project. I walked past an old desk and saw this poem under the glass. Don’t Quit.
I left my job as a funeral director to pursue my dream of being an artist. Although I love what I do and wouldn’t want to do anything else I’d be lying if I didn’t tell myself many many times in my career as an artist that “I Quit”, “I’m Done”, “This Will Never Work”. I’ve had people tell me to do my art as a hobby and go get a job, that really helped my confidence.
But since I’ve started I’ve shown art all over the world and have done projects with amazing people and brands. My gallery shows keep getting bigger, the opportunities keep coming and my brand keeps growing.
I’m going to keep going and keep proving to others and myself that quitting is not an option
"Welcome Home" at Anno Domini Art Gallery
Hey friends!! Well just got back from San Jose and boy are my arms tired. Come on Mike, seriously?
My show “Welcome Home” opened at Anno Domini Art Gallery on May 3rd! I was in town to do the install and well paint a full sized house inside the art gallery. Ok, now my arms are tired. Nailed it!
I’m very proud of this show. This is some of my best work yet. It felt fresh and exciting to make this show. I’d love for you to see the show in person if you can make it but if you can’t please check it out HERE
Excited that this is the first time that the gallery is doing payment plans on the artwork!! Please check the gallery website for details or shoot them an email.
Also please share this show with whoever you think would love the work!! Word of mouth can be the strongest way to help sell some art!
Thanks so much!! Lots of love to you.
Here is the show flyer! And all of the details. Loved the font on the show title.
That’s me! Standing inside the entrance of the house in the gallery.
“Take This Skull Home” 60”X48” on Canvas.
Here is the full house!! It is 8 feet by 8 feet. I did a full paint job on it while I was in town. This turned out exactly how I wanted it to. So happy!
A happy accident! When we got the paintings on the wall I was walkiing around the gallery and stopped and there it was…
The windows of the house lined up perfectly with the two large paintings on the wall.
Ceramics!!
I’m so excited to finally release my first run of ceramics! This has always been something that I wanted to do with my art. I love the idea of pushing myself into other mediums and helping to grow how I present my artwork.
This is also a way to help reduce my production of vinyl toys. I envision using ceramics to produce my figures that can sit on people’s shelves. It’s also a way to make functional artwork. So my figures in ceramic form could hold flowers or candles. There are so many possibilities.
